Description
The R Type was introduced in 1952 replacing the Bentley Mark VI & the last production model to be sold with manual transmission. With an straight six engine and a 4566cc displacement the R Type front end was identical to the Mark VI but with a much bigger boot.
This vehicle was originally Tudor Grey but was painted Blue in 1973.
This R Type was first registered on 27th June 1953 to Rolls-Royce Motors. The current owner took possession on 4th September 1999 and during his ownership has had several tours of the USA as well as Europe & extensively in the UK, but has now decided to reluctantly to sell.
Having been maintained by the owner or ourselves during this time, we replaced the pistons/big end shells & 2 piston liners in 2010 around 9,000 miles ago. Also during this work we fitted a radiator & a Kenlowe electric fan.
The upholstery could do with some attention, but nevertheless a great value R Type.
